Blackburn keeper Robinson would leave if Friedel arrives

Paul Robinson's agent has revealed the Blackburn Rovers keeper would leave Ewood Park in January if the Championship club brought in former stopper Brad Friedel from Tottenham. Robinson remained with Rovers despite their relegation last season and his representative Rob Segal insists the former England international is happy plying his trade in the Championship providing he is number one.

"Paul would be totally happy to stay, he is very happy at Blackburn," Segal told the Lancashire Telegraph.

"But at this stage of his career Paul wants to be playing football.

"If they want to bring in Brad Friedel that's their prerogative, Henning Berg might want to bring his own players in. If he played with Brad I can sort of understand it.

"If they can sort something out with Tottenham then we'll be on our way."
