Blackburn Rovers boss Steve Kean faces frustration in his bid to sign a Premier League striker.

The Lancashire Telegraph says West Bromwich Albion striker Simon Cox will not be coming to Ewood Park, despite Kean's earlier interest, while another target, QPR's Jamie Mackie, is expected to stay at Loftus Road.

Kean needs a new striker after seeing recent signing Leon Best ruled out for six months with a knee injury.
