Blackburn Rovers boss Sam Allardyce has great sympathy for Burnley rival Brian Laws.
The pair are former teammates from their days together at Huddersfield.
Allardyce said: "When I came to Blackburn last year, I inherited players with a tremendous amount of Premier League experience - and they were able to share the responsibility.
"I told them if they played to the standard they knew they were capable of performing at, they had proved they were good enough to be in this league.
"That experience is vital and I could also call on it at Bolton.
"But Brian has the added drawback of not knowing his lads too well, having come in with over half a season gone.
"So it really would be quite an achievement if he kept them up."
