Birmingham's McSheffrey welcomes crowd reaction

Birmingham City attacker Gary McSheffrey hopes he's winning over the St Andrews crowd.

Alex McLeish singled McSheffrey out for praise after the 1-1 draw against Everton and the Tilton Road End made a point of chanting the player's name after some recent jeering.

"Makes a change, doesn't it?" McSheffrey wryly commented.

"Like I've said before, the fans are entitled to their opinion and I just get on with things. I just think it (the backing) comes with our approach to the game.

"We went out there with a more attack-minded approach and people like myself and Cameron Jerome and Garry O'Connor, we get in those holes and positions where we're more familiar. It probably coincided with that."
