Birmingham's Spector in doubt for USA double header

Birmingham City defender Jonathan Spector may miss this weekend's double header for the USA national team.

The 25-year old injured his ankle in the Brum's come-from-behind 3-1 win at Nottingham Forest on Sunday and was forced off inside the opening 15 minutes.

The problem is believed not to be too serious but it looks like it will be enough to keep Spector out of Saturday's meeting with Honduras and Tuesday's clash with Ecuador.

Birmingham boss Chris Hughton says that Spector will be monitored closely over the next few days but indicated that if the player was not 100%, he would not travel with the US team.
