Birmingham City have dismissed manager John Eustace.

The club's American owners have sacked Eustace today with the team sitting in sixth place in the Championship.

They're now expected to appoint Wayne Rooney as new manager after his resignation as DC United coach on Sunday.

Eustace, meanwhile, is now free to take the job at Rangers, where Ibrox chiefs are keen.

Should Rooney take charge at St Andrews, he expected to include Ashley Cole and John O'Shea on his backroom team.
