Birmingham hope to agree Larsson deal this week

Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish hopes to secure Sebastian Larsson to a new contract this week.

The Sunday Mirror says McLeish's priority is keeping Swedish midfielder Larsson, who is out of contract in June.

Larsson is still on £8,000-a-week after joining in 2007 from Arsenal but City are prepared to more than triple his wages.

The winger has been interesting Stoke City.
