Birmingham in goalless stalemate with Brighton

Birmingham boss Chris Hughton was disappointed at his outfit's failure to extend their winning run to seven games. The Blues were held to a dour scoreless home draw by Brighton.

Hughton said: "We are on a good run at the moment but I think it was a fair result.

"We had a good opportunity early on through Marlon King and had that gone in it would have changed the game.

"There is no argument with the workload he is putting in for the team but these are the minimal chances strikers get in a game that they need to put away.

"But Brighton are a good team. They have been together for a while and have a style of play which suits them.

"Probably in the areas where we needed to show more quality and composure in the final third we failed to produce the finish and hence a draw was a fair result.

"We didn't have enough to go on and win the game."
