Birmingham City boss Alex McLeish admits he's seeking some loan deals involving foreign players.

McLeish said: "We are looking at loans but, especially with foreign players, I don't really know them.

"I go back to what Arsene Wenger said, that sometimes foreign players can take six months to settle.

"I know that's not the case in every example but if I commit myself to a player for three or four million euros, and I have not seen enough of him to justify that, then it's possible that we could do some loans.

"In saying that, they are few and far between also.

"Clubs are not really going to give out their best players on loan.

"It will be normally people who are on the fringes of things, or maybe not in the plans.

"It doesn't necessarily mean they are not the best players, but they might just not fit in the managers' plans."
