Birmingham City manager Chris Hughton is of firm belief that Jack Butland's call-up to the England team will only do him the world of good.
The 19-year old Blues goalkeeper has been drafted into Roy Hodgson's Three Lions Euro2012 squad following the withdrawal of Norwich City's John Ruddy because of a broken finger.
Despite the fact that England U21 keeper Butland has only 24 matches of senior experience whilst on loan with League Two Cheltenham Town, Hughton is confident he will be unfazed as a back-up for Joe Hart and Robert Green.
"He's a mature lad, you can't get where he is at 19 as a goalkeeper without that maturity - obviously you've got to have the ability but you need that maturity and that he does have.
"It's a massive step up but the experience he'll gain working with Ray Clemence and Dave Watson and around the quality of players will be invaluable.""It'll be great for his experience and development, I don't think he would be fazed by it," Hughton told Sky Sports News.
