Birmingham City boss Lee Clark is urging Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley to support manager Alan Pardew in the summer market.
Pardew has already snapped up Tenerife striker Ayoze Perez and Sunderland midfielder Jack Colback.
Clark told the Evening Chronicle: "I'm just hoping that they can go out and get the main players they need this year.
"I've seen some of Alan's (Pardew) quotes and he's looking to buy, and he's been quoted as saying he'd like to get some British players."
