Birmingham boss Clark holds no grudge against ex-West Ham midfielder Collison

Birmingham City boss Lee Clark has no problem with Jack Collison taking up an offer from Ipswich Town.

Collison, formerly of West Ham United, had been training with Brum, but always had an offer on the table from Mick McCarthy.

It appears that Wales international Collison is set to take up that option, a short term contract until January.

"I just helped him out," explained Clark to the Birmingham Mail. "I have known his agent for many, many years. Since I was about 14, 15. We just had a conversation and Jack came and trained with us for a few days.

"I see reports that he is probably going to sign for Ipswich.

"We wish him well. Terrific player, terrific fella.

"But as I said at the time it was mainly us just having a look and Jack training with us. I saw it reported he was trialing with us, that was probably not really where we were at."
