Birmingham City boss Steve Bruce is taking striker Mohammed Kallon, whose contract has been paid up by Monaco, on a week's trial but because he is a free agent he can be signed after the window has closed.

Bruce said: "Kallon is here and training with us. He has got no club because Monaco have paid him up. We'll have a good look at him for a week or so and see how he goes.

"I saw him play against Ipswich for Inter Milan a few years ago and he is something a bit different to the others up front."
