Former Aston Villa boss Ron Atkinson says Paul Lambert should be supported, even if they fail in tonight's Capital One Cup semifinal.

Andreas Weimann's first-leg goal gives them hope of avoiding an even bigger giant-killing this time.

"It is do-able for Villa," said Atkinson. "But whatever happens the manager, Paul Lambert, should not be sacked.

"Villa have made too many recent managerial changes. He has to be given the chance to see it through."
