Former Aston Villa boss Ron Atkinson believes they can overcome Bradford City and reach the final of the Capital One Cup final.
Big Ron was Aston Villa manager 19 years ago when they turned round a 3-1 semi-final first-leg deficit against Tranmere to get to the League Cup final. He reckons Villa can do it again.
"We went to Tranmere in the first leg and we really were a miles better team than them and played like it, too," Atkinson told the Daily Express. "We found ourselves two down and I remember thinking, 'I don't understand this'.
"Then John Aldridge scored a goal when he was clearly offside and virtually with the last kick of the match Dalian Atkinson snatched one for us. That was the turning moment. Even though we had lost, we thought, 'That's given us a chance'.
"In the second leg, we went 2-0 up and thought, 'That's it now' and then they nicked another one.
"It took us a long time to get another, which took it into extra-time. The rest is history."
