Real Betis have indicated that Swansea City will need to increase their offer if they are to land Jose Canas.
Swans boss Michael Laudrup has offered £800,000 for the midfielder but Betis want a fee closer to £1million in order for a deal to be done.
The 25-year old came through the youth ranks at Betis, who would be loath to lose him, but Laudrup is aware of the clubs dismal financial situation and is looking to swoop.
