Newcastle United are closing in on Besiktas midfielder Manuel Fernandes according to the Daily Mail.
The Magpies are in talks with the £3million-rated Portuguese who has a year to run on his contract in Turkey.
Fernandes, who kicked off his career with Benfica, has had loan spells in the Premier League with Portsmouth and Everton and is keen on a return to England's top flight.
