According to ESPN Soccernet, Manchester City have rejected Besiktas' £16.7 million offer for British record signing flop Robinho. The Brazilian has struggled to make an impression at Eastlands since making his historic £34m move two years ago. The 26 year old found has been on loan with former club Santos, but the deal is set to expire on August 4.
A source told the website: "Having paid £34m, Manchester City would like to recoup £29m but so far have only had the one offer of £16.7m from Besiktas.
"Robinho has been linked with Barcelona but there is little interest from Barca in signing him now, and City's problem is that they cannot keep on loaning a player who cost them so much."
