Berbatov: Man Utd must pay world record money for Kane

Former Tottenham and Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov says Harry Kane leaving would be bad for Spurs.

Berbatov claims United may have to break the world transfer record to sign Kane from Tottenham.

Berbatov told the Daily Express: “Everybody knows how good of a goalscorer Harry Kane is, but for me he isn't just that, it's how he sees the game, how he plays with his teammates, linking the play, his assists and his defending are all so important.

“For me, having played for both teams, and liking the way Kane plays it is difficult to see and suggest what he should do next, it's up to him because he is the captain of England and he can fit in any team.

“For sure, he wants to win something if it will be with Spurs or somewhere else, but of course he will fit into a Manchester United team because he's English and he's plays so well in the Premier League, it would be easy for him.

“United will probably have to break the world record if they wanted to sign him. It's difficult to see it happening but you never know.

“He is the main guy at Spurs and the team starts with him. For Spurs to lose their main guy what would that say to the fans and everybody involved at the club?

“Letting him go would send a bad signal, that's why I believe it would be a difficult transfer but in this football world nowadays, when you don't have a player who wants to play for the team it's better to let him go."
