West Bromwich Albion skipper Darren Fletcher has revealed that Saido Berahino compared the touch for his goal against Aston Villa to that of Zinedine Zidane's.
Berahino's 39th-minute goal was enough to earn the Baggies a 1-0 win against Villa in the West Midlands derby on Saturday and Fletcher has since revealed that the young striker said the deflection from James Morrison's shot was indeed on purpose.
Fletcher said: "His exact words were 'it's a Zidane touch'. You can tell he doesn't lack confidence. He claims that he meant it and said it was just like Zidane. I think you can see how pleased we all were for him.
"He's a great player and we want him to be a great player while he's here. I think he'll score goals for England in the future - that's how highly I rate him."
