Christian Benteke is set to be Liverpool's last signing of the transfer window according to reports.

Benteke's £32.5million move from Aston Villa should be completed this week as Sky Sports News revealed that the Belgian's medical at Anfield is complete.

But Benteke is set to be the final arrival on Merseyside this summer, with suggestions that Brendan Rodgers has decided against bringing in any more new faces this summer, essentially ruling out reported moves for Borussia Dortmund star Marco Reus and Real Madrid midfielder Asier Illarramendi.

Benteke will join James Milner, Adam Bogdan, Danny Ings, Nathaniel Clyne, Roberto Firminho and Joe Gomez in making up the new-look Reds squad.

Sky Sports reporter Kaveh Solhekol said: "Benteke was his [Brendan Rodgers] no. 1 target. He has already signed six players this summer and there is a general feeling at the club that he will be the last."

"There are still stories linking Liverpool with a move for Marco Reus and Real Madrid´s Asier Illarramendi. But I've been told those reports are nonsense."
