Christian Benteke has urged Aston Villa to continue on in the same vein that has seen them move clear of the Premier League drop zone.

The West Midlands club now find themselves six points clear of the bottom three following Saturday's 1-0 triumph at Tottenham but Benteke suggests they cannot take their foot off the gas now.

Next for Tim Sherwood's side is the FA Cup semi-final against Liverpool at Wembley on Sunday and star striker Benteke is eager to kick on.

"I think it's risky to say we can take three points and we're finished. We have to try to win every game," he said.

"Saturday was a massive three points because now we're six points clear of QPR so it's very important for us to be far off them."
