Record Birmingham signing Christian Benitez is due early next week to undergo a medical before signing a deal which will cost an initial £6.2 million but could eventually rise to £9 million. The 23 year old Santos Laguna player has averaged more than a goal every other game for his club and netted 10 times in 17 appearances for his country.
