Benitez pleased with Newcastle loanees Gayle & Murphy

Newcastle United boss Rafa Benitez says that loanees Dwight Gayle and Jacob Murphy can still be a part of the team.

The two are at West Bromwich Albion on loan this season.

But given the Magpies' lack of transfer funds, it is possible the two will be integrated into the first team next season.

Benitez told Chronicle Live on Murphy: "He needed to play, obviously young players need to play and get experience.

"And it was difficult for him here.

"Bringing in Miguel Almiron was even more difficult. We spoke about that.

"He is a nice lad and a good professional so hopefully he can do well and then we will consider his future."

And on Gayle, he said: "Dwight is doing really well.

"It's good when players are doing well for their teams and you have to consider them for the future.

"OK, you never know what can happen but it's good when they are doing well and enjoying themselves."
