Benfica want to re-sign former captain Simao Sabrosa from Atletico Madrid.
Correio da Manha says talks have already opened between the two clubs, with Benfica prepared to offer £12 million for the midfielder.
The stumbling block will be Simao's personal terms, with Benfica offering less than half his Atletico wages to bring him back to Portugal.
