Benfica are ready to make an offer for Manchester United midfielder Anderson.

The Manchester Evening News says Anderson has failed to keep his progress chart on an upward trend and was dogged by knee injury last term. Now Benfica are keen to take former Porto player Anderson back to Portugal.

He could follow Ji-sung Park, who is joining QPR, out of Manchester United to part fund the revamp of Sir Alex Ferguson's midfield.
