Benfica academy director Rodrigo Magalhães feels too much success has come too soon to Joao Felix.
Felix is currently on-loan at Chelsea from Atletico Madrid, who splashed out €120m to sign him from Benfica.
Magalhaes recalled to AS: “Félix did not have a presence in the Portuguese team until the Under-18s, he did not have the contracts signed at the time that the other teammates had, nor did he have a sports brand that represented him.
"Many times João said that he was not good, he doubted his football, his abilities.
“He talked about A or B having a manager, a sports brand, or signing a professional contract and going to the national teams. Afterwards, João had a moment of meteoric rise in which everything happened to him: the first team, the national team, the astronomical sales came to him and I think that all of that still puts a little pressure on him today."
