Craig Bellamy has revealed he played a huge role in convincing Team GB teammate and fellow Welshman Joe Allen to join Liverpool, reports talkSPORT. And Bellamy has tipped Allen to become a big star for the Reds, insisting the club have made the right decision to splash out £15million on the 22-year-old.
"I spent the last three weeks hounding Joe Allen to go to Liverpool," Bellamy told Liverpool's official website. "They have got an immense player.
"Joe, Brendan and Liverpool will all be great winners out of this. It has been a pleasure to spend the last few weeks with him."
