Belgium coach Martinez selects free agent Denayer with warning as Newcastle, Wolves keen

Belgium coach Roberto Martinez has warned Jason Denayer he won't go to the World Cup if he fails to find himself a club.

Denayer remains a free agent after leaving Lyon over the summer.

Newcastle United, Wolves and Fulham have been linked with the former Manchester City stopper.

Martinez said, "His situation is very special, so we have to treat his case in a very special way. He has participated in seven of the eight qualifiers for the World Cup, he is an important player in the group.

"Even if he will not play against the Netherlands and Wales, he will have the opportunity to train with everyone.

"This will give him the opportunity to prove his worth in view of the World Cup, like all the other players that we follow. It is very important to show him our support in these moments, but also to make sure that he is physically ready for Qatar."
