Valon Behrami is convinced Walter Mazzarri can have success with Napoli.

Behrami played for Mazzarri at Watford.

He told Il Mattino of the new Napoli coach: "He is someone who deliberately almost ridicules himself when he goes to talk to the press. But he does it to protect the team.

"Absolutely yes. Because then he goes into the locker room and smashes the tables. He did it systematically with us. He told us clearly that he went there and said certain things just to protect us and divert attention from our mistakes on the pitch.

"But I know that he will do it with me too now that I'm on the other side. I remember that when we were in England I told him that he shouldn't take all the blame, it wasn't fair. But he didn't want to hear of it: he told me that it had to be like this. And now he will surely invent something to be attacked himself rather than have the team receive criticism.

"You can't help but like it. It makes you bond a lot with your coach. And from this point of view I think something was missing with (Rudi) Garcia."
