Begovic on verge of Stoke exit after failing to agree new deal

Goalkeeper Asmir Begovic could be on his way out at Stoke City at the end of the season.

The Telegraph reports that the Bosnia-Herzegovina international, who is under contract with the Potters until next summer, is yet to agree a new deal with the Staffordshire club.

It is believed that Stoke want to tie Begovic down but do not want to make him their highest-paid player as per his wishes.

Therefore, Stoke could put the 27-year old up for sale for around £8million which is likely to alert such clubs as Chelsea, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Tottenham and Southampton who have been linked in recent times.

To add fuel to the speculation, Stoke are set to land talented Danish keeper Jakob Haugaard from FC Midtjylland who is expected to push Jack Butland as the Potters' number one if Begovic happens to depart.
