Begovic unsure of Stoke future

Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic has no idea about his future beyond the end of this season.

Potters owner Peter Coates is resigned to being unable to keep Begovic out of the clutches of one of the big boys.

Begovic remains calm about it all. He told the Daily Star: "I don't know what's going to happen. It's nice to hear positive things about yourself.

"It's a really massive season. I have to make sure the day-to-day stuff, training and things like that, are sorted out and the rest should hopefully take care of itself.

"I have a good relationship with the chairman and everyone else here. When there is something to discuss, we will sit down.

"It's always been an honest relationship. He knows my ways and my ambitions and I know where he stands, so there are no secrets between us.

"We'll see what happens. Of course the World Cup is going to be a global shop window so obviously it would be great to do well there both personally and for Bosnia.

"I remember thinking as a kid wouldn't it be cool to play in a World Cup and in Brazil as well - the spiritual home of football. I can't wait."
