Begovic frustrated as Stoke blow record chance

Stoke City goalkeeper Asmir Begovic was left frustrated after defeat at West Bromwich Albion.

Begovic admitted that too many of his team's players were below their best as their hopes of a club record fourth successive Premier League win disappeared.

He said: "We have to learn from this, pick ourselves up and get ready to play Palace in a week's time.

"We want to finish as high up the table as we can. We think we can compete with anybody, but you have to make sure you perform and we just didn't do that.

"We should know what to expect from a Tony Pulis team. It isn't rocket science.

"We knew they would be desperate to make up for a couple of bad defeats and we prepared well, but we just didn't perform. Maybe we took one or two things for granted."
