Beckham insists he never wanted to leave Man Utd

David Beckham insists he never wanted to leave Manchester United.

Beckham quit United for Real Madrid in 2003.

The ex-midfielder said he could not even watch Manchester United for two years after his transfer because he was so upset about moving on.

"When I joined Manchester United, I never wanted to leave them. When they told me they were going to sell me was the first time I spoke to Real Madrid," he explained.

"I knew my dream was over and I had to speak to another team. I couldn't watch United for two years, I was that gutted. It was that difficult to leave."
