Beckham, Donovan, Keane guide LA Galaxy to MLS Cup glory

LA Galaxy have been crowned 2011 MLS Cup champions courtesy of a 1-0 victory over Houston Dynamo on Sunday.

More than 30,000 fans turned out to The Home Depot Center in Carson, California to see Landon Donovan score a 72nd minute goal which ended up being the deciding factor in the contest.

After looking likely throughout the match, the Galaxy finally scored when David Beckham glanced a header into the path of Robbie Keane who evaded his marker before cutting a perfect through ball into the path of the night's MVP Donovan who managed to chip over an advancing Tally Hall for his third goal in MLS Cup finals.

The victory capped a magnificent season by LA who claimed the Supporters' Shield with the second-best points tally in MLS history and gave coach Bruce Arena his third title in his league coaching career.
