Beckham-backed Miami franchise re-emerges on MLS radar

MLS are again pondering a franchise in Miami according to reports.

The Washington Post suggests that MLS Commissioner Don Garber is keen to see a team in South Florida, especially if it is backed by David Beckham.

The former LA Galaxy star, now with Paris Saint-Germain, had a clause in his MLS contract that allows him to own a franchise after his playing days in the league are complete.

With that having happened, there are suggestions that Beckham could back a move into Miami with the attempt likely to be made public in a month's time.

MLS officials are monitoring bids from a second New York team, as well as Orlando City, but a Beckham-backed, Miami Dolphins-led soccer team would likely get the nod.
