Beckham: AC Milan must make Champions League places

David Beckham is determined to help AC Milan finish in the top four this season after extending his loan at LA Galaxy. "I would like to end this season helping the team qualify for the Champions League, a competition that is in this club's DNA," Beckham said.

"Milan belong in the Champions League and I hope to be able to take part in the competition with them."

Beckham then explained the reasoning behind his decision to play for Milan and LA Galaxy without a healthy break.

"People ask how I will play this year both for Milan and for Galaxy. But work has never frightened me and anyway I will have a long four-week holiday in the summer and another stop in December.

"I am playing for one of the greatest clubs in the world with a lot of the best players in the world and obviously have the possibility of playing in the 2010 World Cup," he continued.

"I think about having the job of giving my all to be called up by Fabio Capello. Everyone knows how much I value playing for my country."
