Beauchamp given FFA approval if fit for Melbourne Heart

Melbourne Heart defender Michael Beauchamp has been given approval by Football Federation Australia if he passes fit for tomorrow's clash with North Queensland Fury.

Beauchamp was originally selected in Holger Osieck's 20-man Socceroos squad for tomorrow morning's friendly with Switzerland and Wednesday's clash with Poland but had to withdraw because of an ankle injury.

The former Al-Jazira and Aalborg man is rated a 50-50 chance to take on the Fury at AAMI Park tomorrow in the A-League but just in case, the Heart sought approval from FFA which was granted.

"He was ruled unfit to travel to camp with the Socceroos," an FFA spokesman said yesterday.

"He's only considered 50-50, so he wouldn't have been kept in the Socceroos camp.

"He did miss last weekend's game, so the injury was significant enough for him to be ruled out."
