Manchester United's interest in PSG defender Marquinhos has kicked Bayern Munich into action. United are willing to bid £20 million for the young Brazilian who has found himself demoted this season with the arrival of David Luiz from Chelsea.

Le Sport 10 says United's move has flushed out interest from Bayern Munich this week.

Marquinhos, 20, is tied to PSG until 2018 and the French giants face having to accept a loss on the €31.4 million they paid AS Roma for him in 2013.

United are turning to the youngster after being stonewalled by Borussia Dortmund this month over their pursuit of Mats Hummels.
