Bayern Munich have confirmed they are trying to sign Norwegian starlet Martin Odegaard.
The 15-year old Stromsgodset whizkid was believed to be close to joining Liverpool after he trained with the Premier League club last week but German giants Bayern are now in hot pursuit.
Odegaard has been linked with a number of top clubs around Europe recently and now the Bundesliga champions have thrown their hat in the ring according to chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.
"He's an extraordinary talent," Rummenigge told Bild.
"We're trying to acquire him and I believe we have a good chance."
Odegaard, who debuted for Stromsgodset in April, became the youngest player to feature in a European Championship qualifier in Norway's 2-1 win over Bulgaria on October 13.
