Bayern Munich signing Dier posts special farewell to Tottenham

Former Tottenham veteran Eric Dier said an emotional goodbye to the North London club this week.

The central defender has completed a move to Bayern Munich with immediate effect.

Dier will link up with old teammate and close friend Harry Kane in Bavaria this winter.

The 29-year-old defender said about leaving Spurs: “I just want to say a massive thank you to everyone associated with Tottenham football club.

“From all the staff at the training ground, at the stadium, in the community, the players, the coaching staff, all the managers that I've had along the way and the chairman.

“To everyone who is part of the club and then obviously my team-mates throughout the time I have been at the club. The support you have given me and the relationships we've built, I couldn't ask for a better dressing room to be part of for the last nine and a half years.

“It's been incredible to share that with you. Obviously the fans. It's been a hell of a journey. The way I was received from the moment I came has been incredible.

“The one thing that always sticks out to me is the fact everywhere you go in the world, there seems to be so many Tottenham fans. That always seems to amaze me.

“So I just want to say a big, big thank you to all of you for all of the support you have shown me. I hope you can experience great success with the club moving forwards.

“I'll be watching, supporting and hoping for the same. I hope to see you all soon. I am extremely grateful to have had these nine and a half years.

“Tottenham has been a part of my life and my family's life for so long. It will forever hold a special place in my heart."
