Bayern Munich saved by controversial Klose goal in CL

German high-flyers Bayern Munich recorded their 13th-straight win in all competitions on Wednesday night but not without a few scares along the way.

Bayern needed an 89th minute Miroslav Klose goal to spare their blushes against a Fiorentina side who had managed just one point in their past five outings - the match ending 2-1 at Allianz Arena.

The Germans went ahead on the stroke of half-time thanks to an Arjen Robben penalty but Fiorentina equalised five minutes after the re-start when Per Kroldrup netted after being in the right place at the right time after a poor corner from Marco Marchionni.

Then controversy struck when referee Tom Henning Ovrebo, who oversaw last season's dramatic semi-final between Chelsea and Barcelona, sent Fiorentina's Massimo Gobbi off in the 73rd minute for a seemingly innocuous tackle then failed to send Bayern's Klose off five minutes later for a challenge that seemed much worse.

And to add salt to the wounds of the Italians, Klose was clearly offside when he nodded home with a minute to go to give his side the win.
