Bayern Munich put Guangzhou Evergrande to the sword in Club World Cup

German giants Bayern Munich are through to the final of the FIFA Club World Cup after beating Guangzhou Evergrande on Tuesday night.

The Bundesliga and European champions now have the chance to win a fifth trophy in 2013 after producing a 3-0 result over the Chinese Super League and Asian titleholders in Agadir, Morocco.

Franck Ribery opened the scoring for Bayern when he volleyed home in the 40th minute before Mario Mandzukic added a second moments before the break when he headed home Thiago Alcantara's perfect cross.

Mario Gotze gave the Bavarians a three-goal lead early in the second half when he fired home from 25 yards which in the end was enough for Pep Guardiola's men to book a spot in the decider where they await the winner of Wednesday night's other semi-final between Moroccan club Raja Casablanca and Brazil's Atletico Mineiro.

The final takes place at the Stade de Marrakech in Marrakech on Saturday, December 21.
