Bayern Munich honorary president Uli Hoeness is against a Germany recall for Toni Kroos.
The Real Madrid midfielder has raised the prospect of ending his international retirement.
But Hoeness said on Servus TV: “It would be quite a Titanic signal.
"I don't think he can save German football. He's an exceptional footballer, but..."
When it was put to Hoeness that many German pundits were calling for Kroos' return, he also said: "They always know everything better, even if they have not achieved anything apart from being footballers.
"I don't care too much about television commentators."
