Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic says that Manuel Neuer knows of his value to the club.
The German giants are in a contract stand off with their number one goalkeeper.
And now the veteran, who has 92 German caps, could leave if he does not get the five year deal he wants.
Bayern feel that such a long contract is too much for a 34-year-old.
"Manuel know that we really appreciated him," Salihamidzic told Welt Am Sonntag.
"I played with Oliver Kahn. I know how much a world-class goalkeeper gives to a team.
"Manuel is a world-class goalkeeper. He is highly valued in our club so I hope that we can extend our relationship with Manuel.
"We have clarified the position internally, and since nothing else has become known since then, I assume that we can moved on."
