Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng admits he turned down an offer from Barcelona.

The former Manchester City defender says the offer came after the World Cup.

"Obviously it's a huge honour for a club like Barcelona to show interest in you, but I didn't think about it twice," he told BILD.

The 26-year-old went on to reveal one of the reasons why he decided to stay put at the Allianz Arena.

"These days, you don't need to leave Bayern for Barcelona if you want to win the Champions League."
