Bayern Munich chief Salihamidzic proud of Mane transfer coup: Means a lot to us - and me

Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic is delighted with their deal for Liverpool striker Sadio Mane.

The Reds agreed a deal to sell the 30-year-old to the Bundesliga giants in a deal worth £35m. It means that Mane's time at Anfield comes to an end after his six-year stint on Merseyside.

Salihamidzic regards the Mane deal as a transfer coup.

He said: "Sadio is at the height of his career, at a great age. He is in great shape and he is hungry for titles. He is at exactly the right club. We are all proud and happy that such a world star is coming to Bayern. Especially because such a player was on fire for Bayern from the first minute.

“It means a lot to all of us, to me, to the coaching staff and to the whole club. It's wonderful that we were able to win such a player for our team."
