Bayern Munich have confirmed they have initiated talks to sign Leroy Sane.

The Manchester City winger is the German giants' top transfer target this summer.

Sane started only nine games in 2019 and has showed a reluctance to pen a new contract to remain at the Etihad.

And Bayern chief Uli Hoeness has confirmed the club are attempting to capitalise on his dissatisfaction.

"We are dealing with this player," he told Suddeutsche Zeitung.

Quizzed on Sane, sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic said: "I don't comment on names. We will try to do something for the new season, so we must also clarify how much money we have available for it."
