Bayern Munich's interest in Zinedine Zidane has been played down.

The former Real Madrid coach's struggles with English could work against him.

On Saturday, Bayern sporting director Max Eberl was asked about the coaching search and stated that there's a demand for the language skills of a new coach.

He stated, "I have not said that a new coach must speak German - but he must be able to speak English."

Subsequently, he was asked about Zidane.

"I don't know if he speaks English."

Thomas Tuchel is currently the head coach of Bayern Munich, but the parties will end their cooperation at the end of the season.
