Bayern Munich boss Van Gaal surprised by open Inter Milan

Bayern Munich boss Louis van Gaal was surprised by how open Inter Milan were for last night's 1-0 win.

Inter fell to a surprise 1-0 home defeat against Bayern Munich when the goalkeeper spilled an Arjen Robben snapshot in the final minute for Mario Gomez to tap in.

"It was an entertaining match with many scoring opportunities," said Van Gaal.

"Perhaps we created a few more, so I am satisfied, then at the death we got a bit of luck. I really liked the second half performance, as Inter worked hard without achieving much and we held possession well.

"Inter surprised me, as they played a very attacking and creative style of football, but our goalkeeper Thomas Kraft also had a great game."
